Charles Barkley is never one to hold his tongue. The outspoken Hall of Famer has shown time and time again throughout his career that he doesn't pull punches. Similarly, LaVar Ball made his way into the public spotlight thanks to his outspoken nature, going as far as to make a WWE appearance because of his popularity.
There was a time when LaVar Ball was sweeping the nation. He appeared on TV programs to promote his three sons, his Big Baller Brand and his highly-anticipated signature shoes. His hot takes, one-liners and steadfast belief in himself earned him massive attention and shone a light on Lonzo Ball's talent prior to the 2017 draft.
The way Charles Barkley saw things, LaVar was all about himself and his brand. Barkley controversially took aim at Ball for being a bad father and exploiting his kids for his own success. Barkley appeared on ESPN Radio's "Golic & Wingo" show and pulled no punches as he said:

“Everybody talking about how he might be a good father, this and that. No he’s not. He’s just exploiting his kids. … He’s all about Big Baller Brand. He has no foreseeable talent. He’s trying to make money off his kids, and I just feel sadness for those kids because they’re going to do whatever he tells them to do.

"I just don’t like the guy at all, plain and simple. And don’t tell me he’s a good father. Just because you exploit your kids, trying to make money because you have no talent, that does not make you a good father.”
LaVar Ball fired back at Charles Barkley
That wasn't all, as Charles Barkley also took offense to Ball saying that he could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one in basketball. The comments were so outlandish that Barkley took to Google to look into Ball. When he found out that the family patriarch averaged just 2 points in college, he called Ball out for a one-on-one game.

Of course, Charles Barkley's comments didn't fall on deaf ears. LaVar Ball fired back in an interview shortly after, providing fans with yet another hilarious clip. In his signature delivery style, Ball took aim at the Hall of Famer as "The Nation" hosts watched on and laughed hysterically:
"Barkley don't want to see me. He don't want to see me. That's why he's gotta go back and forth with me to keep his relevancy. He's getting a little old. I say Chuck ain't even talk about basketball no more! It's just me and him. Let's play Domino's. I know he can beat me eating some donuts, and I love donuts."
LaVar continued, taking aim at the 59-year-old's slow stiff movement after suffering a ruptured quad late in his career:
"One-on-one Barkley won't even show up, he can't walk that far."
While the two never squared off on the court, the showdown would without a doubt have been one of the most viral moments in recent basketball memory.
