Like most NBA players, Shaquille O'Neal had some disagreements with officials during his time in the league. There was even one instance when he let his emotions get the best of him on live television.
During his eight seasons with the LA Lakers, Shaquille O'Neal was one of the most unstoppable forces in the league. He racked up multiple accolades in that span, including three-straight championships alongside Kobe Bryant.
While there were many good times for Shaq in LA, one night things didn't go so well. After a game, he blasted the refs in an interview for trying to do too much. The former MVP was clearly not happy with how they conducted themselves that night and accused them of trying to take over the game:
"They always wondering why the league is losing money that's why. People pay good money to come watch these athletes play and they try to take over the f****** game."

The reporter quickly told Shaquille O'Neal that they were on live television, but he did not seem to care at the time.
"I don't give a sh*t."
Shaquille O'Neal opens up on today's refs
The playing days of Shaquille O'Neal are long gone, but he is still a prominent figure in the NBA. He is now known for his insights on TNT's "Inside the NBA."
As a former player, Shaq is always comparing how things are now to when he was competing. Among the things he's discussed over the years is how players interact with officials.
In the past, it was rare to see guys over politicing with the referees. Now, it has become a common practice. After every stoppage and whistle, players and coaches are pleading their case with one of the officials.
During an interview with FanSided, Shaq gave his thoughts on this newfound practice. He feels it is bad for the game and that it's sending a bad message to the future generation of players:
“There’s too much crying and boohooing about the refs in the league today. I want the young kids coming up to realize sometimes things don’t go your way and just play through it.”
The Hall of Fame big man brings up a valid point. No matter how hard they may try, players don't have the ability to change much when it comes to the officials. It is a part of the game and out of their hands. If they follow Shaq's example and bash them in a post-game interview, it will result in a hefty fine from the league office.
