When Steph Curry's wife Ayesha Curry revealed Warriors star wore 3XL shorts to their first date

Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry have known each other since they were teenagers. After several years together, they are married and support each other. Ayesha once revealed that the Golden State Warriors star picked an unusual piece of clothing for their first date.

During an appearance in Jan. 2019 on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ayesha recalled how she and Steph first met. They were teenagers when their paths crossed and had their first date near the studio.

"[The date was] on Hollywood Boulevard," Ayesha said before Kimmel asked if Steph was hitchhiking before going on the date. "No, but he did have on 3XL shorts, so, that's the sign of the time.

"It was our first official date ... He wore shorts to our food tasting for our wedding, too, with a suit jacket."

Ayesha added that she was 18 and Steph was 19 at the time, trying to explain why they went to a wax museum to prolong their date. She described it as "awesome," and given that they are now in their late 30s and have four children together, that date and the ones that followed paid off for the Curry family.

Steph Curry has become one of the best basketball players of his generation, winning MVP awards and NBA championships while Ayesha is a successful chef, businesswoman, TV personality and book author.

Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry have engaged in a notable Christmas tradition. Their annual "Christmas with the Curry," initiative which is going strong after 12 years, donated $500K to provide one million meals to the Alameda County Community Food Bank through their foundation "Eat.Learn.Play."

They shared the news on Instagram, adding more details of the special date with the Curry family.

“What an incredible day at Madison Park Academy! As co-founders of Eat. Learn. Play., we were thrilled to kick off our 12th annual Christmas with the Currys with a day full of joy, creativity, and connection. From a pop-up book fair, games, and crafts to the unveiling of Madison Park's newly refreshed library, the day was nothing short of magical!” the post said.

In addition to donations to the food bank, the foundation will spend an additional $200K to give grocery gift cards to a thousand Oakland families.
