Ja Morant could be in a lot of trouble because of a couple of incidents that happened last summer. Morant allegedly threatened Memphis mall officials while also battling a lawsuit after being accused of beating up a teenager at his Tennessee home.
Some on the internet have expressed disappointment at the Memphis Grizzlies superstar, considering he had a great upbringing. Morant was born on Aug. 10, 1999 in Dalzell, South Carolina. His parents are Tee and Jamie Morant, who were both athletes in college.
Morant grew up in Sumter, South Carolina, where he played high school basketball for Crestwood. He then played two seasons of college basketball at Murray State in Murray, Kentucky. He was drafted second by the Grizzlies in 2019, behind Duke's Zion Williamson.

Some fans on social media were quite disappointed with the recent Morant news. The incident with the Indiana Pacers last month highlights a potential problem for Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. It even led NFL legend and Fox Sports analyst Shannon Sharpe to give Morant sound advice.
Twitter is now questioning why Morant is trying to be something he's not. Fans have pointed to his upbringing under a two-parent household, complete with a house and everything he needs to be successful.
Here are some of the reactions on Twitter:
"How did a 2 parent household raise an NBA player and fake thug?"
"Grew up in a town with less of a crime rate than most towns in Arkansas."
"Ja Morant acting like he embarrassed to come from a 2 parent household."

Ja Morant called himself family person ahead of draft night
Ja Morant spoke about growing up in South Carolina in a pre-draft interview with Clinton Yates of Andscape. Morant revealed that he considered himself a family man because of the way his parents raised him in a humble community.
"It's a very small town, the country, a lot of woods," Morand said. "But almost everybody around there know each other. That's why I'm a big family person."
