Bronny James will make his G League debut, but LeBron James' eldest son wasn't with the South Bay Lakers during their annual photo shoot. His absence seemed to puzzle many Lakers fans. The 20-year-old wasn't assigned to the team's G League until Thursday when LA listed him for it on their latest injury report.
Bronny is expected to remain with the Lakers until then and be on the sidelines during the team's home game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. Bronny will rejoin the South Bay Lakers on Saturday.
However, not seeing him with LA's other young players in the South Bay Lakers photoshoot confused Lakers fans.
"Where's Bronny," one fan wrote.

"Gotta retake the pic for Bronny," added another.
"Dont take the pic until bronny gets there," one fan said.
One fan mocked the misfiring Lakers' role players, saying:
"Since all yall keep asking about Bronny then I'm going to ask about these guys: Where is Dlo, Dalton Kecht, and Max Christie?"
One fan tried explaining why Bronny James wasn't there, saying:
"Why would Bronny take a freaking photo with the G league team? He is bouncing back forth between the G league games and the Lakers. He not staying down their full time. Come on people the plan or writing is on the wall. He will play for the gleague team when the lakers don't have a game otherwise he with the Lakers. You can see that already."
"bronny boutta be there," one fan added.

Bronny James won't play full season with G League
Bronny James isn't expected to play all games for the South Bay Lakers. According to Shams Charania, Bronny will reportedly play only home games and manage time between the G League and the NBA. The Lakers might be trying to give him some NBA experience and not entirely demote him to the G League.
That probably is the process for the Lakers' standard contract players on the roster, including sophomores Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis. The Lakers are thin on their rotation to begin the season, with injuries to Jarred Vanderbilt and Christian Wood opening up minutes for several young players.
Bronny James doesn't necessarily play a 15-20-minute rotation shift, but he gives the Lakers an option in garbage time when the team pulls out their main rotation players.
