The LA Lakers face the Miami Heat on Wednesday as part of the final games of the California Classic. After relatively inactive offseasons from both these organizations, they will be looking to develop some of their younger prospects in the Summer League.

The Lakers have had a dismal 0-2 start to the Summer League. The team lost their opening game to the Sacramento Kings 108-94, followed by a one-sided defeat to the Golden State Warriors 92-68.

Miami also struggled against the Warriors, losing 105-66 on Saturday in a lopsided affair. The Heat bounced back in their second game with a 102-86 victory over the Kings.

The California Classic segment of the Summer League is coming to an end. All the games have been played between Sacramento's Golden 1 Center and San Francisco's Chase Center.

The Chase Center, which was opened in 2019, has a seating capacity of 18,064.

Players to watch out for

Lakers fans will be excited to get another glimpse of Bronny James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James. He is expected to return after missing out on Sunday's encounter versus the Golden State Warriors. The 19-year-old made is professional debut versus the Sacramento Kings before being omitted for the team's second game due to a knee injury.

Bronny recorded 4 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds in his opening game against the Kings. The LA Lakers will be hoping to see a little more from their second round pick on Wednesday.

Kel'el Ware will be the man to keep an eye on for the Miami Heat. At 7-feet tall, the former Indiana Hoosiers center is hard to miss on the court.

Ware had a respectable start to his Summer League Campaign with 12 points and six rebounds against the Warriors. He really excelled in his second game versus the Kings. Ware recorded the most points (26) and rebounds (11) and shot 12-21 from the field during the Heat's first victory.

The Miami Heat selected Ware with the 15th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and that pick is starting to look like a great decision by the organization.
