The Miami Heat host the hurting New York Knicks at the Kaseya Center on Wednesday (Oct 30). The 2-1 Heat lost their season opener to the Orlando Magic but bounced back with wins over the Charlotte Hornets and the Detroit Pistons. As for the Knicks, they haven't had a smooth start to their season playing three stern Eastern Conference opponents in the Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
While they were able to get past the Pacers, they suffered losses against the Celtics and the Cavs and now will face another playoff contender in the Heat. The Wednesday contest also marks the first of their four-game road trip, which NY will hope to win and get back to stacking up more victories.
The new-look side is yet to strike that synergy with new massive acquisitions Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns. Depth has been a cause for concern for the Knicks as they are missing center Mitchell Robinson and forward Precious Achiuwa, a former Heat first-round pick. Can the Heat extend their winning run, or will NY strike back with a win? Only time will tell.

New York Knicks vs Miami Heat player to watch out for: Jimmy Butler
All eyes are on Jimmy Butler, as the veteran forward is expected to suit up for the Heat on Wednesday. Earlier, rumors mills churned that the Heat superstar's time in Miami could be coming to an end after NBA insider Chris Haynes hinted that Butler intends to decline the player option worth $52.4 million for 2025-26. The Houston Rockets were looked at as a potential landing spot if he decided to move on from the franchise.
Butler started his season on a quiet note by his own standards, averaging 17.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists in the three games played so far. The Heat are 2-1 to start the season and are one of the teams pegged to be playoff contenders. Butler is looked at as one of the key pieces to lead Miami to another deep playoff run alongside Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro.
