Exhibitions like this are a good opportunity for the U.S. team to figure out how to gel with one another. Following a subpar outing at the World Cup, the Olympic team is littered with NBA superstars. Notable participants include Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Joel Embiid.
Seeing that the United States has its sights set on a gold medal, these showcase games are a good opportunity to build momentum heading into the Olympics.

Team USA has tough challenge in showcase game vs Canada
Heading into their first showcase game, Team USA will have a tall task against Team Canada. They too have a roster loaded with high-level NBA talent.
The top player on Canada's roster for the Olympics is MVP runner-up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He is coming off a season with the OKC Thunder where he averaged 30.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.2 assists.
Aside from SGA, other notable members on Canada's roster are Jamal Murray, RJ Barrett, Dillon Brooks and Lu Dort. They are loaded with wing depth but don't have many options at the center position. Canada's center rotation will consist of Kelly Olynyk and Dwight Powell.
Going against pesky defenders like Brooks and Dort will be a good challenge for Team USA's guards and forwards. They'll also have an opportunity to defend a high-level scorer in SGA. Jrue Holiday and Kawhi Leonard will likely be two players tasked with guarding the Thunder star.
One player who has an opportunity to be a major X-factor for the United States in this matchup is Joel Embiid. Seeing that Canada is thin at the center position, the former MVP should be able to have his way on both ends of the floor.
During Wednesday's matchup, lineups will also be a key thing to watch. Steve Kerr hasn't mentioned what his starting unit is going to be. That said, he'll likely deploy what he feels is his best five-man lineup against a team like Canada.
