Other performances over the All-Star weekend
There have been a handful of other performances announced for the All-Star weekend in addition to the three taking place prior to the All-Star game. The NBA is set to honor LeBron James' lifetime achievement of breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's scoring record.
One of the most notable will be a headlining performance by Burna Boy, who has continued to make a name for himself in the music industry in recent years. Prior to the league's honoring of James, Grammy-award-winning singer Tems and rapper Rema will perform as well.
Given how big the event will be it's hard to ignore the fact that it will bring in plenty of visitors. Ahead of the star-studded weekend, Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and his wife have been incredibly hands-on when helping plan the event.
According to NBA Senior Vice President of Event Strategy and Development Joey Graziano, the couple is going above and beyond. He spoke to The Salt Lake Tribune to discuss how much the pair care about things going well.
“It’s really special, how involved they’ve been. I’ve just been highly, highly impressed. They want to make sure that they are curating every moment of this experience in partnership with the NBA.”

Of course, with the All-Star Game being in Utah, it's only fitting that the Jazz' own Lauri Markkanen will suit up for the game. Ahead of his historic weekend, The Finnisher spoke with KSL Sports about his NBA journey thus far.
“Well it was difficult,.Now, it’s easy…but as a 21, 22-year-old, when that adversity hits it’s not the easiest place to be.”
Given that he was subject to scrutiny in Chicago and in Cleveland, this moment has been a long time coming for Makkanen.
