Second-generation stars have become a trend with Carmelo Anthony's son, Kiyan Anthony, the latest to make waves in the basketball world. Kiyan was outstanding at the Nike Peach Jam Tournament in South Carolina and received praise from his parents after Friday's game.

With his father watching on the sidelines, the 17-year-old had another impressive performance. He put up 27 points to lead Team Melo to a 73-66 overtime win against Team Durant in a tightly-contested game.

Kiyan's mother, well-known television personality and actress LaLa Anthony, applauded her son on Instagram stating "Let's gooo," followed by a series of fire emojis.

As is the case when it comes to social media, there can, on occasion, be some criticism directed at a young player. One user posted a response to Kiyan's post on Instagram saying:

"He not athletic but he skilled like Melo"

Carmelo Anthony was not going to sit back and just let that slide. The former 10-time NBA All-Star replied to the comment and made it known that he found it hilarious.

Along with his 27-point outing, Kiyan also scored 40 points on Monday at the same tournament. He shot 15-19 from the field and 5-6 from behind the arc.

After an impressive junior season and some dazzling performances at the Peach Jam, there has been plenty of interest from Division 1 schools for Kiyan Anthony.

Some of the top basketball schools, including Ohio State, Illinois, Indiana, Florida State, Michigan, and Tennessee, have already offered a scholarship to the young prospect.

Perhaps the most interesting landing spot would be Syracuse University. Kiyan's father, Carmelo Anthony, played college basketball for the Orangemen. He won a national championship under legendary coach Jim Boeheim in 2003 and is fondly remembered by their die-hard fanbase.

Carmelo's No. 15 jersey was retired in 2013, making him one of only 17 players to receive the prestigious honor.

Kiyan visited Syracuse with Carmelo in 2023, which only fueled rumors that he could end up at his father's alma mater.
