The 52-year-old became a sidekick for Jimmy Kimmel and was an understudy for "Uncle Frank" Potenza. He took over Potenza's role on the show after the latter death's in 2011.

"See Guillermo, he gave me an opportunity to focus even more during all those Finals runs I had," James said. "I was saying to myself, 'If I could block him out, then the fans have no chance.'"
At the end of the interview, Rodriguez finally had his moment with "The King." The two hugged and were all smiles. It was an awesome moment for Rodriguez, who has been a good sport all those years.
