Jayson Tatum has emerged as one of the best young stars in the league, as he's having an MVP-like season for the Boston Celtics. Behind his success is a supportive family that always has his back.
Jayson is the son of Justin Tatum and Brandi Cole, who had him when they were in high school. Both of them met in St. Louis, Missouri, where their son grew up. Justin is a former basketball player who turned into a basketball coach and gym teacher.
Justin can still play basketball well. Jayson has footage of his "old man's" game dominating on the court.

Cole, on the other hand, also had her moment being involved with sports. She used to play volleyball in high school and even received a scholarship offer to play for the University of Tennessee. She's currently an attorney and is the biggest motivator for the Boston Celtics' star.
In an inverview, Jayson detailed how his mother still pushes him to become a better basketball player and leader. Watch the interview below:
"She'll be like, 'If you're not going to be aggressive, just let me know. I'll turn the TV off now.'"
Jayson Tatum can ramp up his game for the Celtics in the second half of the season
Jayson Tatum has been an incredible leader for the Celtics this season. With Jaylen Brown, they've sustained the top spot in the Eastern Conference standings for some time. Boston has a chance to be the biggest threat in the East and has another shot at winning the championship.
Tatum is averaging 30.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.5 assists while shooting over 46.4% from the field and 35.7% from the three-point area. He's having his best season, which has it's been a positive impact for the Celtics.
If he continues to play consistently, the chances of the Celtics winning the chip could increase. Tatum has been in the top five on the MVP ladder since the start of the season, which is why the team has been outstanding.
