Marquette sophomore Kam Jones started to make a name for himself during the 2022-23 NCAA season.
Jones showed some intriguing flashes during his freshman season, averaging 7.4 points in 18.5 minutes. However, the 6'4" sophomore has seen his game take off to another level this season.
This year, Jones is averaging 16.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He's also shooting 48.1% from the field, 35.2% from three-point range, and 79.2% from the line.
Jones has been one of the most impressive players in the Big East in 2022-23. Not only has the sophomore guard shined on the court, but his team has as well. Marquette has won five of their last six games and is preparing for a big showdown on Friday against Creighton.

Marquette Golden Eagles guard Kam Jones starting to buzz
Kam Jones has started to become one of the top names to watch when it comes to players in the Big East. The Marquette Golden Eagles currently find themselves at 8-3 for the year. They are in the midst of a two-game winning streak with a showdown against the Creighton Bluejays coming up next.
Jones started out the 2022-23 NCAA season with respectable numbers. Through the first five games, he was averaging 11.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. During that same stretch, Jones was shooting a disappointing 39.0% from the field and 25.6% from three.
That's when Jones flipped the switch and has started to put up eye-opening production. In his last five games, the sophomore is averaging 19.2 points per game while shooting 57.1% from the field and 48.5% from three-point range.
Jones has the shiftiness to be a dynamic threat off the dribble. If he can continue to put up these types of numbers, he's going to be a popular name in college basketball. With conference play around the NCAA starting to begin, it's going to be an important stretch of games for Marquette.
After Friday's matchup against Creighton, the Golden Eagles will take on Providence and Seton Hall in their next two games. The team will then hit the road to take on a red-hot Villanova Wildcats team on December 31st. After a strong stretch of games, Jones will be eager to prove that his recent production isn't a fluke. NBA scouts will be watching closely as well.
