Maddy Siegrist was born on May 22, 2000 in Poughkeepsie, New York. She is one of the four children of George and Ginna Siegrist. Her father played college basketball for Marist College.
Siegrist was a high school star for Our Lady of Lourdes in Poughkeepsie. She was named Poughkeepsie Journal Player of the Year as a junior and senior. She averaged 32.7 points and 13.1 rebounds per game in her final season before committing to Villanova.
In her first season at Villanova, Siegrist was named Big East Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Big East. She was named Big East Player of the Year last season and to her third first-team All-Big East.
