Who is Matt Painter's current wife? Purdue coach's personal life and relationships explored

Purdue University basketball head coach Matt Painter has been married since October 2018 to Sherry Painter. He has two daughters, Maggie and Emma, to former wife Jerri Painter and a son, Brayden, with ex-girlfriend Kim Lei.

The Boilermakers’ shot-caller and Sherry do not have kids together. She does have a son and daughter from her previous marriage to Stephen Plevin.

Sherry Painter is a flight attendant, registered nurse and breast cancer survivor. She’s the biggest influence Matt has on their cause to help with cancer awareness. The couple shared a lovely photo on Twitter which was captioned with:

“Yes, My husband wears Pink!

The Real Men Wear Pink advocacy helped raise funds worth a little over $200,000. Painter and his wife campaigned for the platform in 2021, but they are still actively involved in the same cause.

Painter, after divorcing former wife Jerri in 2013, was reportedly unattached for five years until the marriage to Sherry.

Before tying the knot with Sherry Painter in 2018, Matt Painter was married to Jerri Painter from 2003 to 2013. The former couple met in 1994, but weren’t reportedly romantically involved until 2000. They eventually committed legally as husband and wife on May 24, 2003.

Matt and Jerri Painter’s first kid was Maggie, who was born in 2001. She was followed by another daughter named Emma in 2003.

Maggie followed her father’s footsteps and enrolled at Purdue University in 2013. The Painters were caught in the limelight in 2014 when a tragic shooting occurred inside Maggie's classroom.

Painter’s eldest daughter graduated from Purdue in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and tourism management. She now works as a consultant at The Bowdoin Group and is also reportedly associated with Earli, Inc.

Not much is known about Emma Painter, except that she’s very close to her elder sister, Maggie, and half-brother Brayden.

Brayden Painter is Matt Painter’s son with Kim Lei

Painter and Kim Lei were not married when Brayden Painter was born. He is the eldest child of the Boilermakers’ head coach.

The Purdue ties lie deep within the Painters. Lei reportedly also graduated from the same university as Matt and Maggie.

Brayden Painter does not fall far from the tree either as he is deeply-entrenched in the Boilermakers’ basketball program. Painter’s son is currently the manager of the team he coaches.
