Patrick Ewing is a former basketball player known for his success with the New York Knicks. He's also the former head coach of the Georgetown Hoyas, after the announcement that his firing was official earlier today.

Ewing has three children, Patrick Jr., Randi, and Corey Ewing. Unlike other NBA legends, the second generation of Ewing weren't able to follow in the footsteps of their father. Ewing Jr. is the most recognizable child of the former Knicks franchise star.

Right now, he serves as the senior director for the Ottawa BlackJacks, a professional basketball team in Canada.

Randi, on the other hand, played volleyball for Louisville during her college years.

There isn't much information about Randi, other than her college volleyball highlights. Additionally, Patrick's last-born, Corey, isn't much of a public person.

How long was Patrick Ewing a head coach for the Hoyas?

Ewing was named head coach back in 2017. Since then, he's been the leader of his former college team. He led the team to the 2021 Big East Conference tournament championship during his fourth season as head coach. This success came after becoming the eighth seed in the tournament.

Ewing wasn't able to lead the team into relevancy, as they were a first-round exit in the 2023 Big East tournament.

How did Patrick Ewing Jr. perform in college?

The eldest of the three Ewing children is best known for carrying on their father's name. However, he wasn't able to be of impact in his career as a college and professional basketball player.

Born on May 20, 1984, all eyes were on Ewing Jr. to follow in his father's footsteps. People watched him closely as he grew up and matured as a basketball player. Early in his basketball career, he joined Indiana University. He played his freshman and sophomore seasons with Indiana before transferring to the Georgetown Hoyas.

Due to NCAA transfer rules, however, Partick Jr. had to sit out the entire 2005-06 season. In his final year, he was finally allowed to play for the Hoyas, but only averaged 6.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists. Despite his low numbers, he won the Big East Sixth Man of the Year.

Ewing Jr. played the small forward position, which was not similar to the position his dad played, which was center. Due to his lackluster performance as a college player, he wasn't able to make it big in the NBA. During his career, he bounced around to different leagues, ranging from the NBA to European leagues.
