Jamea Jonae Harris is a 23-year-old woman who was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa back in January. The incident occurred after she declined to engage with a man attempting to flirt with her while out with her boyfriend and cousin.
Not long after the shooting, two men were arrested. One of them was Alabama basketball player Darius Miles.
Along with Miles, 20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis was also picked up by police for his involvement.
The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit is charging both Miles and Davis with capital murder for the shooting of Jamea Jonae Harris. Harris had no previous run-ins with law enforcement and spent most of her time taking care of young child.

Darius Miles, along with another Alabama player is being tied to the murder of Jamea Jonae Harris
While Darius Miles was arrested for shooting Jamea Jonae Harris, new developments have emerged in the case. Most notably, that another Alabama basketball player had some involvement in the events that transpired.
Testamonies from police have stated that Brandon Miller helped Miles in the shooting. He allegedly brought the gun that was used. Despite the recent news, Miller is yet to be charged with anything and remains on Alabama's team.
Asked by AL.com why Miller was not charged, Tuscaloosa chief deputy D.A. Paula Whitley said, “That’s not a question I can answer. There’s nothing we could charge him with,’' according to the law, she said.
Brandon Miller is a 6-foot-9 forward who is just starting out his college career. The freshman sensation has played in 27 games this year and is averaging 18.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
Since being arrested, Miles and Davis have been held without bond.
