The LA Lakers continued rounding out their training camp roster Wednesday, signing guard-forward Vincent Valerio-Bodon to an Exhibit 10 contract. Valerio-Bodon's signing comes a day after the team signed ex-Memphis Grizzlies two-way contract guard Jordan Goodwin to a similar deal.

Vincent Valerio-Bodon, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound undrafted Hungarian prospect, has amassed years of experience playing overseas, in the NBA G League and the NBA Summer League. During that span, he has garnered attention for his offensive versatility for his size.

From 2019 to 2023, Valerio-Bodon played in Hungary's NBIA league with Atomeromu SE, DEAC and Sopron KC. Over 30 games during the 2022-23 season with Sopron KC, he averaged 8.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.4 3-pointers per game. He shot 50.3% and 41.2% from deep, showcasing his outside shooting ability.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA draft, Valerio-Bodon made one appearance with the Boston Celtics during last year's Las Vegas Summer League. He tallied 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, one block and two 3-pointers, shooting 50.0%.

That was enough for Valerio-Bodon to land an Exhibit 10 contract with LA last September before getting waived a month later during training camp. Thus, this year marks the second consecutive that the guard-forward will be vying for a spot on the Lakers' regular-season roster.

This past season, Valerio-Bodon played for LA's G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers. Across 25 outings, he averaged 6.0 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 1.2 apg, 0.7 spg, 1.0 bpg and 1.0 3pg, shooting 39.4% and 30.6% from 3.

Most recently, Valerio-Bodon appeared in four California and Las Vegas Summer League contests with LA this summer. He struggled offensively, averaging 4.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 1.3 apg, 0.8 spg and 0.8 3pg, shooting 29.4% and 30.0% from deep.

Nevertheless, the Lakers appear intrigued by the 23-year-old's upside, given that they brought him back for another look.

Vincent Valerio-Bodon appears unlikely to make Lakers' 2024-25 roster

While Vincent Valerio-Bodon will soon take his second crack at making LA's regular-season roster, he seemingly faces a tough route.

Despite the Lakers being one of the offseason's most idle teams, they don't have an open roster spot after signing rookies Dalton Knecht and Bronny James.

LA could still make a trade to clear up roster space. Coming off a seventh-place (47-35) Western Conference finish and first-round playoff exit, the franchise was widely expected to be active this summer. However, with training camp fast approaching, the chances of it making a significant offseason move appear to be dwindling.

So, barring a standout training camp, Vincent Valerio-Bodon will likely again be one of the odd men out and return to the South Bay Lakers.
