"Whose house can I come to for Thanksgiving?": No turkey dinner for Naji Marshall as Mavs star looks for holiday invite

After a strong performance against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, Dallas Mavericks wing Naji Marshall had a special request for fans.

The 26-year-old said he needed a backup plan for Thanksgiving as he could not spend it with those close to him.

"Whose house can I come to for Thanksgiving? All my family and friends busy," Marshall tweeted with a teary-eyed emoji.

However, Marshall may not be alone for Thanksgiving after all. Fans were quick to offer Marshall a spot at their dinner tables for the holiday.

"Come down to Rockwall my man," one fan commented.

Marshall is breaking out for the Dallas Mavericks to start the 2024-25 campaign. The fifth-year forward out of Xavier is averaging career-highs in minutes, points, steals and field goal percentage in 17 games this season.

Marshall is averaging 10.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists on 53.3% shooting.

The Mavericks have been without superstar Luka Doncic over the last three games due to a wrist injury, making room in the starting lineup for Marshall, who signed a three-year, $27 million deal in the offseason.

Naji Marshall continues hot scoring streak versus Hawks

The Mavericks had a dominant performance from Naji Marshall in their 129-119 win over the Hawks on Monday.

Marshall notched his third consecutive game scoring 20 points, In his fourth start of the season, Marshall scored 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting, connecting on two of his three 3-point attempts. He also grabbed six rebounds and recorded an assist in 28 minutes.

Jaden Hardy, Kyrie Irving and Spencer Dinwiddie also stepped up in Luka Doncic's absence. Irving scored a game-high 32 points, Hardy poured in 23 points on 8-of-18 shooting and Dinwiddie added 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting off the bench.

Marshall is in the midst of the greatest scoring streak of his young career. His three-game stretch of 20 points or more is the best of his career.

He will have the opportunity to extend his 20-point scoring streak to four against the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
