The 2024 Paris Olympics are underway and LeBron James was a flagbearer for the U.S. Team USA will look to secure the gold in both men's and women's basketball, being the favorites in both.

In a Team USA photo, WNBA star Brittney Griner towered over LeBron James, despite both the WNBA and NBA stars' height being listed at 6-foot-9.

Fans joked about Griner being taller than LeBron in the comments.

"Why BG trying to out Alpha LeBron lol," one fan joked.
"BG on her tiptoes. 🤣 For reals?" another fan added.
"BG same sized as lebron😆," a third fan stated.

Other fans supported Brittney Griner's height over LeBron.

"Love that BG is taller!," one fan stated.

James and Team USA started their Olympics against Serbia, while the women's team will start its campaign with a matchup versus Japan.

Team USA favored to win gold in men's and women's basketball

Some of the best basketball talent in the world comes from the NBA and the WNBA. The United States men's and women's national teams are each made up of players from each league.

The men's national team is favored to win it all at the Paris Olympics with -400 odds. The women's national team is also the heavy favorite to win it all, with -1800 odds to win gold.

The men's team features Bam Adebayo, Devin Booker, Steph Curry, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, LeBron James, Jayson Tatum and Derrick White, with some dubbing this the greatest men's Olympic roster ever fielded.

On the women's side, the team features Napheesa Collier, Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Griner, Sabrina Ionescu, Jewell Lloyd, Kelsey Plum, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Alyssa Thomas, A'ja Wilson and Jackie Young.

The men will look to win their eighth gold medal since 1992, winning in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2008, 2012, 2016 and 2020. The women will look to win their eighth-straight gold medal dating back to 1996.
