DeMarcus Cousins has a history of getting into fights with other players throughout his career. His unsportsmanlike demeanor eventually diminished. However, Cousins had an off-the-court incident, allegedly violently threatened his ex-girlfriend back in 2019.
Here is everything you need to know about the incident.
TMZ Sports, in 2019, published a video of a conversation between DeMarcus Cousins and his ex-girlfriend, Christy West from that same year. Apparently, Cousins was about to get married to another woman and asked Christy if she could send their son over. West declined, riling up the NBA star, who said:
"I'm gonna make sure I put a bullet through your f***ing head."

However, the situation never escalated into anything violent. Cousins said he was against domestic violence on the All the Smoke" podcast.
Cousins said:
"I had a special moment in my life. I wanted all my family to be there. Things didn’t work out the way I wanted it to for my day. I was upset. So, I said some things I shouldn’t have said. I’m a hundred percent against domestic violence. I watched my mother go through that as a child.
"I said the wrong thing. Heat of the moment. We’ve all done it."
In such situations, the league gets involved to see if a player accused of a crime needs to be suspended from the team. However, the incident involving Cousins was different. Cousins was with the Lakers at the time and was injured. He wasn't going to play for a while, so the league and the team decided it wasn't necessary to intervene.
Does DeMarcus Cousins have anger issues?
DeMarcus Cousins doesn't always start the trouble, but he can lose his temper easily. It always looks like he's the bad guy in the end thanks to his sudden burst of emotions. In his defense, he usually retaliates only when threatened on the court. Cousins isn't the type to back down easily and will definitely give others a piece of his mind.
This was especially true during his time with the Sacramento Kings. Boogie got into fights with the likes of Marcus Smart and Rajon Rondo. However, as he's become older, Cousins has avoided on-court fights in recent seasons.
Boogie played 31 games and averaged 8.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Denver Nuggets last season.
