LeBron James’ youngest son Bryce James is at the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League (EYBL) tournament. His team, Strive For Greatness (SFG), is in the finals circuit which is more popularly referred to as the “Peach Jam.” It is the younger James’ second time to join the competition after playing in it last year.
SFG ended the tournament with a 4-2 record. A handful of X, formerly Twitter, accounts raved about how the Sierra Canyon forward was in his “bag” during the games. Another site showed highlights of Bronny James’ younger brother against one of their opponents, Boo Williams.
Kyle Tucker, of “The Athletic, however, called out these sites for giving Bryce James too much hype. Tucker called it “absurd and deceptive” to project James’ potential as a Division 1 prospect.

James averaged 5.6 points on 31.4% shooting, including 17.6% (3-17) from deep. He also added 2.4 rebounds with no assists in six games.
Fans quickly reacted to the youngster’s stats:
“Why are lebron’s sons so mid I don’t get it”
One fan couldn’t agree more with Tucker:
“Damn, the facts betray the highlight reel in a major way.”
@eadampeek jumped on the same train of thought:
“And averaged 21 mins a game...so it's not like he wasn't on the court a lot.”
Another fan asserted:
“Insane propaganda”
Bryce James is under even more scrutiny following his older brother Bronny James’ struggles in the NBA Summer League. Some analysts and fans are still convinced that James Jr. shouldn’t even be in the pros. Many are wondering if LeBron James’ youngest son will have a similar trajectory.
Kiyan Anthony is doing better than Bryce James at Peach Jam
Bryce James wasn’t the only participant at Pearl Jam with a legendary basketball father. The tournament also saw Kiyan Anthony, Carmelo Anthony’s son, show his stuff in front of coaches, scouts and fans. Anthony has been better than James at the Nike EYBL.
Anthony is averaging 21.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 29.3 minutes per game. He is hitting 41.5% of his shots, including 37.3% (19-51) from deep.
On July 15, Kiyan Anthony lit up Mac Irvine Fire (IL) for 40 points. He missed only four out of 19 attempts and went 5-for-6 from rainbow distance. “Melo’s” son has been consistently the better player than Bryce James at the Nike EYBL. Anthony’s game has improved compared to his last outing in the same competition last year where he and James were teammates.
