The Memphis Grizzlies took on the Oklahoma City Thunder at Paycom Center on Sunday. Ahead of tip-off, fans spotted something off with Grizzlies rookie big man Zach Edey.
Edey was ruled out ahead of Sunday's game with a concussion, and fans spotted the rookie with a black eye during warm-ups, causing confusion among fans on social media.
"Edey has a concussion. Looks like he got hit pretty hard," EdeyMuse posted on X/Twitter.

"I am terrified of whatever creature Edey fought that was tall enough to hit him in the eye," a fan humorously commented. "Bro was beefing with the Wendigo."
"Sheesh Edey has a shiner," a third fan added.
Fans continued to speculate what happened to the rookie center's eye.
"Why does it look like someone punched him in the face," a fan questioned.
"When did he get hit in the head," a second fan asked.
"Zach Edey out tonight in 'concussion protocol'," a fan posted in quotations.
Along with Edey, Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant was also ruled out on Sunday with a shoulder injury.
Thunder win sixth straight with victory over Grizzlies
In Zach Edey and Ja Morant's absence; the Grizzlies suffered a 130-106 blowout loss versus Oklahoma City on Sunday. The Thunder were dominant on both ends of the floor, with seven of 13 players scoring in double figures. On the defensive end, Oklahoma City forced 21 turnovers and scored 33 points off of them.
Shail Gilegous-Alexander led the way for Oklahoma City, notching 35 points, and shooting an efficient 14-of-19 from the field. He filled up the rest of the stat sheet with seven assists, six rebounds and four blocks in an MVP-caliber performance.
Ajay Mithcell (17), Aaron Wiggins (16), Jalen Williams (14), Isaiah Hartenstein (12), Kenrich Williams (12), and Isaiah Joe (11) were Oklahoma City's other six respective double-digit scorers.
Memphis fell to 22-11 on the season, suffering their second loss in four games. They will be back in action on Tuesday versus the Phoenix Suns from the Footprint Center. Entering the matchup, Zach Edey is listed as a game-time decision as he navigates concussion protocol.
