Steph Curry will not play on Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. He's ruled out by the Golden State Warriors ahead of their fourth game of the season. Curry is on the injury report, citing an ankle injury. He suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Warriors' 112-104 loss to the LA Clippers on Sunday.
What happened to Steph Curry?
Curry injured himself twice on Sunday. He rolled his ankle late in the third quarter with about three minutes left. After getting treatment on the sidelines, he returned in the fourth quarter. However, his presence on the court didn't last long. Curry tweaked the same left ankle again, resulting in his exit.
He headed to the locker room with the staff's help, and Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy followed him. It was initially feared to be a Grade I or II strain that could have ruled him out for multiple weeks.

However, Steve Kerr gave the latest injury update on Monday, saying it's not a long-term issue and Curry could only miss two games. The Warriors' injury report has classified his injury as a left peroneal strain.
Steph Curry's season so far
Steph Curry has had an up-and-down start to the 2024-25 NBA season. He hasn't been as efficient as he would've liked. In three games, Curry has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists, shooting 41.5%, including 40.7% from the 3. He had his best game on Sunday before his injury after tallying 18 points, four rebounds and six assists in 27 minutes, shooting a season-high 54.5%, including 57.1% from 3.
However, his impact on the Warriors can't be subjected to the box scores. Curry's gravity has elevated the Dubs' offense further as they have more shooting and size this season. The Warriors are outscoring teams by 15.7 points when Curry is on the floor. He has a 26.0 net rating.
The Warriors will be glad to have him back sooner than expected. They are without a reliable secondary scorer and bonafide All-Star, making their chances of maintaining a winning record difficult in Curry's absence.
Andrew Wiggins and Buddy Hield have been excellent in their roles, but it remains to be seen if they can be consistent. The next two games will be a good measuring stick for the Warriors to test themselves in Steph Curry's absence.
