Luka Doncic received his 16th technical foul of the season Sunday and was in line for an automatic one-game suspension. However, NBA insider Shams Charania tweeted on Monday that the league has rescinded that tech, making Doncic eligible to play as the Dallas Mavericks visit the Indiana Pacers on Monday night.
Doncic said something to the referees during Sunday's 110-104 loss to the Charlotte Hornets, drawing a technical foul. Doncic apparently expected a call while attempting a layup over Dennis Smith Jr. but didn't get the call.
The NBA's decision makes Luka Doncic available to play on Monday night against the Indiana Pacers (33-42) as the Dallas Mavericks (36-39) try to secure a spot in the play-in tournament with only seven games left in the season.
The Mavericks are 11th in the Western Conference, trailing the OKC Thunder (37-38) by one game, but they have lost four straight games and have only won five of their last 18 games.
The Pacers (33-42) are 11th in the East but trail the Chicago Bulls (36-38) by 3.5 games for the final Eastern Conference play-in spot.
