After six years with Stadium, NBA insider Shams Charania has decided to leave the company. Charania is now a free agent and will likely have a different employer before the 2024-25 NBA season starts. Fans have begun speculating about where the insider may land next.

According to a New York Post report by Ryan Glasspiegel, Charania's deals with FanDuel and The Athletic will soon expire. As part of the NBA's new media rights agreement, NBC and Amazon may sign the reporter.

The Post also shared that nothing is clear about Charania's future. Depending on the final deal, the insider could stay with either one or both of his current employers.

Where did Shams Charania start his media career?

Shams Charania worked hard to attain his sports media fanfare. Charania began writing at 17 when he covered the Chicago Bulls for ChicagoNow. He honed his skills and eventually landed a job as a writer for RealGM.

He later joined Yahoo! Sports after discovering Adrian Wojnarowski, who was with the company then. In 2016, Charania began making a name for himself as an insider as he reported news about deals and high-profile signings.

In 2018, he left Yahoo! Sports and joined The Athletic and Stadium. While with both companies, he gained greater recognition and became one of the most recognizable NBA insiders.
