NBA fans are having too much fun trolling rookies Alex Sarr and Bronny James for their Summer League performances. Sarr and James had a nearly identical stat line recently, and fans can't help but notice their draft positions at No. 2 and No. 55 overall, respectively.
Sarr finished his second Summer League game with eight points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks. He went 4-for-14 from the field, including 0-for-5 from beyond the arc. It was a tough outing for the second overall pick in their 109-91 loss to the Houston Rockets
Meanwhile, James put up eight points, five rebounds and two steals on his Summer League debut versus the Rockets. He was 3-for-14 from the floor and missed all eight of his shots from the 3-point area. He has a chance to redeem himself on Monday against the Boston Celtics.

NBA fans made fun of the fact that the No. 2 pick Alex Sarr had a near identical stat line as the No. 55 pick Bronny James. While there's a debate about how bad the 2024 draft class is, it's too early to judge both rookies after just a handful of Summer League games.
"YES SIR BIG BRO COOK UP," one fan wrote.
"More overrated than Anthony Bennett," another fan replied.
"They only talk about Bronny. No one know who this guy is," a fan shared.
Alex Sarr was the initial favorite to be the No. 1 pick in this year's NBA draft before his fellow French prospect Zaccarie Risacher overtook him. Sarr's lack of motor on Sunday was visible, which likely frustrated some members of the Washington Wizards fanbase.
"7'1 and can't rebound," one fan opined.
"For looking like Caitlin Clark, 0/5 from three is diabolical," a fan commented.
"Him and Bronny is interchangeable," another fan remarked.
Alex Sarr was better in his previous game
It's just one bad game from Alex Sarr in the Summer League, so it's pretty normal for fans to overreact to his performance on Sunday. Sarr was much better on his Las Vegas debut against the Atlanta Hawks, finishing with 12 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
Sarr still struggled with his shot, but that's part of the game, and he will likely get out of the funk with more time on the court. His offense needs help, but his defense seems to be there already although Washington Wizards Summer League coach Cody Toppert wants more energy from the No. 2 pick.
"I think we want to see a little bit of a killer come out on the court. We want to see a guy who is bringing an aggressive mentality on both sides of the ball, a level of physicality on defense that’s going to establish a baseline for what he’s going to be in the future.
"And then on the offensive side, it’s got to be a level of aggression. We don’t want him to hide on the offensive end. We want him to hunt action," Toppert told The Athletic.
