NBA champion Nick Young had something to say about Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum not getting any action with Team USA. During their 110-84 win against Serbia in the 2024 Paris Olympics, fans noticed that Tatum didn't get to play. This has bothered most fans who were expecting everyone on the roster to play.

This was a surprise, since he helped the Celtics win the 2024 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks. Also, his NBA teammates, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, had enough playing time in the first game.

Young chimed in on the matter, posting a video on Instagram where he felt bad for Tatum's lack of playing time.

"In the States, Jason Tatum a star, but out the country, you’re a corner nig*a," Young captioned. "It’s happened to the best of us, baby."

In the video, he had this to say:

"I told you, everybody's gonna get a taste of the corner. It don't matter if you a world champion. N***a, everything. First Team All-NBA, Finals, all that. You gon' get a taste of that corner, n***a. Steve Kerr said, 'You gon' taste what a corner n***a is, boy.'
"Jayson Tatum, I feel for you. 'Cause everybody goes through it. Everybody get a taste of the corner. N***a out there cheering and he cheering with his soul hurting. He just gotta cheer, they gotta act like it don't bother them."

Team USA coach Steve Kerr said that Tatum will get some playing time in their second game. They will play against South Sudan on Thursday, Aug. 1. They're a team that they barely beat during their tune-up games in London.

Jayson Tatum was reportedly "professional" about Kerr's rotation

After Team USA's win, there were questions about why Jayson Tatum didn't get to see time on the court. According to Kerr, he regretted not giving Tatum time to play but also shared that he had the chance to talk to the Celtics forward.

"I went with the combinations I felt would make sense," Kerr said. "And I talked to him, and he was incredibly professional."

Fans will likely see him in action in their next game as the team needs all firepower to beat South Sudan.
