LeBron James is set to eclipse another milestone in his career, becoming the 32nd player to play in the NBA after turning 40 years old. James will officially surpass the mark when he suits up to take on his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, on Tuesday night.
Players and coaches around the NBA wished the all-time leading scorer a happy birthday on Monday. ESPN collected a montage of birthday wishes from former teammates and coaches in honor of LeBron's 40th.
Among the players included were Kevin Love, Chauncey Billups, Kyle Korver, Mike Brown and Steve Kerr.

"Happy 40th birthday," Kevin Love said. "You are annoying and full of yourself and never passed," he added humorously. "On a real note, love you, appreciate you. We had a lot of great moments together."
Chauncey Billups also offered kind words to LeBron James:
"Proud of you, happy for you, man. Go enjoy it old-head," Billups added.
Kyle Korver, LeBron's teammate in Cleveland, had heartfelt birthday wishes for the four-time MVP:
"I think first I need to congratulate you on passing me on the 3-point shooting list. That's kind of messed up. You're not really a shooter, you're the guy who passes to shooters. It feels like you're just trying to take everything. It's selfish, actually," Korver said. "Congratulations on that, congratulations on 40."
Mike Brown, James' coach in Cleveland from 2005 to 2010, also featured in the video:
"Happy 40th, my man," Brown said. "I appreciate everything you've done, first of all for myself, my family and more importantly for this great league."
Steve Kerr rounded out the video to wish LeBron James:
"What a career you've had and what a life you've built," Steve Kerr said. "It's been amazing to witness it and to be a small part of it this past summer [in the 2024 Paris Olympics]."
LeBron James, Lakers host Cleveland Cavaliers after birthday
In his first game after turning 40, LeBron James will face off against his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. James led Cleveland to a historic 3-1 comeback in the 2016 NBA Finals over the Golden State Warriors and spent 11 of his 22 seasons in a Cavaliers uniform.
Cleveland is arguably the best team in the NBA this season, entering Tuesday's matchup with a league-best 27-4 record. The Los Angeles Lakers come into the contest with an 18-13 record, looking to win their sixth in seven games.
Even at 40 years old, James is still one of the NBA's best players, averaging 23.5 points, 9.0 assists and 7.9 rebounds through 28 games this season. LA will look to spark a run with a momentum-building win over an upward-trending Cavaliers squad.
