Zach Edey got another start for the Memphis Grizzlies, his 12th of the year, during Monday's home game against the LA Clippers. After a few solid games following his injury return on Dec. 15 against the LA Lakers, the first-round pick had a rough start against the Clippers.
Edey went scoreless after the first six minutes of action, exiting the game with a defensive three-second violation. He missed three shots in that span. Once Edey returned in the second, he struggled to make a significant impact again.
The former Purdue prospect finished the first half scoreless, going 0-for-4, but had eight rebounds, including four offensive boards. He was a +/- +5 in a 58-51 lead for Memphis.
Edey's rough outing continued in the second half. The Grizzlies' big could add only three points to his total after making a corner 3. He missed his other seven attempts on the night, including five inside the arc. Edey remained a threat on the glass, though. He had six more rebounds, including three on offense in the final two quarters.
Here's Zach Edey's final stat line for the night:
Edey scored three points, 14 rebounds (seven offensive), one assist, one steal, three blocks and two turnovers for a plus/minus of +3.
The Grizzlies lost 114-110.
