Zach Edey and the Memphis Grizzlies hosted the Toronto Raptors on Thursday. The matchup was the Grizzlies' last home game before traveling for a five-game road trip.

The rookie immediately impacted the game against the Raptors. He finished the first quarter with seven points, three rebounds and one assist. The 7-foot-4 center went 3-for-4, including 1-for-2 from deep. Edey did not record a block, but altered shots around the rim.

Edey played well in the second quarter. He finished the first half with 14 points and seven rebounds, both team-high numbers. The Memphis Grizzlies led 78-70 heading into the third quarter.

Zach Edey added six points to his total in the third quarter. All of his shots came within nine feet of the basket. Perhaps the highlight of his night was a nifty alley-oop off a pass from Ja Morant.

Edey made a free throw with 50.2 seconds remaining to cap off his performance. He played a big role in the Memphis Grizzlies' 155-126 home win against the Toronto Raptors.

Zach Edey records second double-double game in December

The first time Zach Edey finished with a double-double this month happened on Dec. 15 against the Golden State Warriors. Edey had 13 points and 10 rebounds in the Memphis Grizzlies' 116-110 loss to the LA Lakers. However, the rookie was outmatched by Anthony Davis, who tallied 40 points, 16 rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block.

The next double-double for Edey was on Thursday versus the Toronto Raptors. He had better success against Kelly Olynyk, Scottie Barnes and Chris Boucher. The 7-foot-4 rookie tallied 21 points and 16 rebounds.

Edey was a thorn in the Raptors' side all night. The former Purdue star snared nine offensive rebounds that the Grizzlies converted to 15 points. On the defensive end, he protected the paint. This was perhaps his best game of the season.
