LeBron James of the LA Lakers has played 20 NBA seasons, and he's closer to retiring than ever, although no rocking chair is imminent. In his career, he's helped three organizations win titles; and according to one insider, James could end his legendary career with the Lakers.
Based on Zach Lowe's recent report, there's a high probability that James could conclude his career with the Purple and Gold. While there is no clear evidence to back up the claims, Lowe said that the four-time MVP's recent comments about the team's depth are sending a message of patience to Los Angeles.
"I keep hearing he wants to stay with the Lakers," Lowe said. "He wants to finish his career with the Lakers.
"His comments, though, should be interpreted as his patience is not infinite, and if this is just a continued morass of losing, maybe that changes. But if you force me to bet, I’d still bet on him finishing his career with the Lakers. And I’d feel pretty confident in that."

Only 10 players have played for at least 20 seasons. James is one of them, and his effectiveness on the court is what separates him. He can still provide an elite level of contribution for the Lakers, even though he's on the older side of the spectrum.
The Lakers (19-22) have been underwhelming this season. They haven't had a lot of wins to make the fans take them seriously. Additionally, Anthony Davis, the star who carried them for a stretch, isn't available due to injury. Luckily for them, James has done his part in carrying the team once again and being their on-court leader.
Los Angeles will try to get the best of Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks (23-19) on Thursday.
LeBron James has openly called out the Lakers front office
The 2022-23 NBA season has been a disaster for the Lakers. For this year, the squad is again underachieving, and the front office hasn't done anything to fix the issues. LeBron James appears to have had enough of his experience with Los Angeles' management, causing him to call them out.
In a recent interview with The Athletic's Sam Amick, the four-time MVP shared his thoughts on how the front office has helped the team improve. Looking at their roster from last season, it's evident that Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka and owner Jeanie Buss haven't done enough to give the star forward enough help.
"Y'all know what the f*** should be happening." James told Amick.
It appears as if the 18-time All-Star is growing impatient with how the team is being handled. The good news is, the February trade deadline is almost approaching and the Lakers could make some noise.
