Nic Claxton was selected with the 31st overall pick in the second round of the 2019 NBA draft by the Brooklyn Nets. He made his NBA debut on November 8, 2019, in a match against the Portland Trail Blazers. In that game, he scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds, helping the Nets win with a score of 119-115.

In addition to his NBA career, Claxton has represented the United States Virgin Islands in international competitions.
