Jokic began his professional career with the Serbian team Mega Basket in 2012 and played there for two seasons before declaring for the NBA draft. Jokic was selected by the Nuggets with 41st overall pick in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft.

Nikola Jokic is well known for his all-around skills as a center, including his playmaking ability, shooting range, and rebounding skills. He has also been named a six-time NBA All-star from 2019 to 2024 and was named NBA's Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2021, 2022, and 2024. He is the first player in Nuggets history to receive the honor.
