Detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley's wife Montana Yao on Wednesday revisited a past beachside photoshoot by sharing one of her Instagram posts from Nov. 19, 2023, on her story, adding a message for her fans. In the post, Yao posed in a chocolate brown swimsuit, striking a series of confident poses by the beach.

In her latest response, Yao subtly addressed netizens who accused her of "thirst trapping," confidently embracing her "look" from the beachside shoot.

"Not a thirst trap I just look like dat," Yao wrote.

Beasley and Yao began dating in 2018 and welcomed their first child, Makai, on Mar. 16, 2019, before marrying in August 2020. However, their relationship hit a rough patch when Beasley was photographed holding hands with the Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen's ex-wife Larsa Pippen, prompting Yao to file for divorce in Dec. 2020.

The couple separated in Apr. 2021, after which Beasley publicly apologized, acknowledging the difficult situation he had put Yao in. Later, they reconciled and welcomed their second child, Mia Love Beasley, in 2022.

Meanwhile, Beasley, known for his sharpshooting, is currently with the Pistons and has appeared in all nine games of the 2024-25 season so far. The former Lakers guard is averaging 10.7 points while shooting 32.4% from the field, including 33.3% from 3-point range.

Montana Yao slams Shaquille O'Neal

Malik Beasley's wife Montana Yao recently called out basketball legend Shaquille O'Neal over his comments on love and marriage. On a recent episode of the Unapologetically Angel podcast, hosted by WNBA star Angel Reese, Shaq was asked if he had plans to marry again, to which he responded:

“Probably not (getting married). I’m going to end up alone," said Shaq. "Y’all be making rules up as you go on. There is no handbook on how to be a perfect man or a perfect husband … If I’m not physically seeing somebody and I’m with you every day and you know my schedule, shouldn’t matter what I’m doing with my phone, it’s not cheating."

The 27-year-old model took issue with Shaq's response, bluntly stating that men like him are destined to end up alone and slammed him for lack of accountability.

"Ewwww this typa man is the worst and yeah u definitely ending up alone," Yao wrote on IG story. "“Being this grown and still not taking accountability and tryna blame women when clearly you’re the problem is wild, lame, weak… next."

Yao however boasts a substantial social media presence, with over 127,000 followers on Instagram.
