Old Age? Kobe?

Just 3 months shy of his 32nd birthday, Kobe was asked after Game 5 against the Suns what he would like to do on Wednesday night, prepare for Game 6 after a tough Game 5 or sit back and relax? Kobe replied “I’m old.What do you expect?”

Then came Game 6,and Kobe’s ridiculous onslaught came with it.Memories of Michael Jordan were stirred seeing him in rhythm. Double-teamed ,two hands in face, fading away from the rim,eyes half open, and yet he makes the shot! At one point in the 1st quarter, he even nearly broke Grant Hill’s surgically repaired ankles, and carried the same intensity in the 3rd and 4th. Before the series, Jared Dudley commented ‘There’s no way he can score 40 points on that shooting percentage.He can score 40,but he has to take 35-38 shots for that!’It didn’t look like it if you ask the man himself, but Kobe sure made it personal. Such tremendous efficiency can come only when a man is fending off queries and question marks,even if its No.24. Kobe always says ‘I never make anything personal’. He said this before the Suns series ,after recounting their humiliating loss to the Suns a few years ago in the playoffs. Maybe we should believe him,at least until the tip-off.

People ,solid defenders, have been found quoting one liners on guarding Kobe. Kobe had just 1 thing to say after the series win ” I am 31,soon to be 32.I don’t deny I am old. But surely you must be knowing about me when you come defending”. And we sure saw that.

Kobe has said there is nothing personal about the 2008 loss to Celtics. Again, lets not go by his words for a change. Likewise, who is old?Kobe? Ask again!!
