Onyeka Okongwu is an American center who was drafted with the sixth overall pick in 2020. Before the NBA, Okongwu played one season of college ball at USC, where he became the Trojans player to post a double-double on debut. He was awarded the Pac-12 Conference player of Week two times.

Primarily playing as a back up option behind Clint Capela, Okongwu’s performances have seen him get more minutes each season. In the 2023/24 season, he registered his career-high in minutes and points per game, at 25.5 and 10.2 respectively. This resulted in the Hawks signing him up to a new four-year $62 million contract, effective from the 2024/25 season.
