Orlando Magic vs Dallas Mavericks: Key matchups

Magic guards vs Dallas backcourt

The Mavericks’ identity lies in their backcourt duo of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. Dallas will go as far as the duo carries it, and if they have a tough night, the team could struggle offensively.

The Magic, on the other hand, usually depend on their forwards to carry them offensively. However, with Banchero out, that responsibility now falls on their guards Jalen Suggs, Anthony Black, Gary Harris and Cole Anthony.

If the Orlando guards can do just enough to stay close to Doncic and Irving, the Magic might just have an opportunity to get an upset win on Sunday

Franz Wagner vs Dallas bigs

The absence of Banchero directly translates into more responsibility for Franz Wagner, who had 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the game against Cleveland. While Wagner might not be as effective as Banchero, he could still cause trouble for Dallas’ bigs such as Daniel Gafford and P.J. Washington.
