UBA 2015: Punjab Steelers beat Mumbai Challengers 100-83

Action from the game between the Panjab Steelers and Mumbai Challengers

Punjab Steleers crushed Mumbai Challengers 100-83 in the second match of Day 8 of the 2015 UBA Championship.

The first half of the match was quite a competition between both teams; there was barely a chance for either to score baskets. Both teams’ offence is so well-matched that they scored almost equal points in the first two quarters.

The first quarter ended at 19-18 in the favour of Steelers and the second quarter at 37-37. Karan (15) of Mumbai Challengers scored a few mind-blowing 3 pointers which helped them draw level with the Steelers, even though they failed to prevent the Punjab team from scoring.

Then came the Punjab Steelers show in the third quarter. All through the second half of the game, the Steelers dominated the proceedings by scoring an abundant amount. They eventually ended with the highest score by any team in the championship so far.

The third quarter ended at 65-53 with the Challengers still fighting to be alive in the game.

But then it was pure slaughter in the final quarter of the game. Even though they scored a good share of 30 points in this quarter, thanks to Karan again who played a fantastic game, Punjab Steelers scored a huge amount of 35 points – the highest in a quarter so far.

Final Score: Punjab Steelers 100 (Ravi 27, Sartaj 23, Gurwinder 15) beat Mumbai Challengers 83 (Karan 40, Arif 18).
