Paolo Banchero is an Italian American professional basketball player who plays as a power forward for the Orlando Magic in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

He went to Duke for college, where he was named Rookie Player of the Year. After being drafted by the Orlando Magic first overall in 2022, Banchero won the NBA Rookie of the Year and was selected in the All-Rookie Team in 2023.

In his first NBA season, Banchero averaged 20.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. In 72 games played in the 2022/23 season, he shot 42.7% from the field, including 29.8% from 3-point range.

She became a basketball coach at Holy Names Academy after playing professionally in the American basketball league and overseas.

Paolo Banchero, being an Italian citizen, was eligible to play for Italy's national basketball team. He has previously shown a willingness to represent Italy in international competitions. However, he did not play in the EuroBasket 2022 when he was selected in the 24-player team for Italy. USA won the recruiting battle when they secured the commitment of Paolo Banchero for them in the FIBA World Cup 2023.

He became the third player for the Orlando Magic to win Rookie of the Year after Shaquille O’Neal and Mike Miller.
