French dynamo Tony Parker said he is hopeful of being able to play Thursday night after suffering a hamstring sprain in game three of the NBA finals.

Parker was examined by San Antonio Spurs’ team doctors and underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan Wednesday, which showed he suffered a “grade one” strain of his right hamstring. The team has listed him as day-to-day.

“Today the MRI just confirmed what I felt was a strain, and I was just hoping it was not a tear or a defect,” Parker said at the Spurs practice on Wednesday. “So the good news is it’s not a tear. Now I just have to see how I’m going to feel tomorrow.”

Game four is Thursday at ATT Center arena.

The all-star point guard was injured in the Spurs’ 113-77 blowout victory over the defending NBA champion Miami Heat in game three of the league championship series on Tuesday. The Spurs lead the series two games to one.

Parker had six points and eight assists in 27 minutes of playing time before heading to the locker room. He returned briefly in the fourth quarter.

“I don’t feel pressure,” Parker said. “I will just talk with Pop (coach Gregg Popovich) and we’ll make a decision.”
