Patrick Beverley also known as ‘Pat Bev’ is an American veteran guard who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA. He is a one-time member of the NBA All-Defensive First Team and a two-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Second Team.

Beverley has entered his 12th NBA season and has played for five different franchises, starting from the Los Angeles Clippers to finally culminating with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2023. The addition of Beverley has enhanced the defensive intensity and hence has made defense more formidable. Additionally, he can shoot from the deep and keep the score running. In his career, he averaged 8.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists on shooting 37.2 % from beyond the arc.

The veteran guard has inked a one-year contract that is worth up to $3.29 million to play with last year’s MVP Joel Embiid and the Team’s young star Tyrese Maxey of the 76ers. This deal will make him earn a salary of $3.1 million guaranteed.

During his two seasons of college basketball, Beverley averaged 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game on shooting 42.0 % from the field which also includes 38.2% from the 3-point line in 70 games. He attended the University of Arkansas for his college career. In his freshman season, he averaged 13.9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, and 3.1 apg. His intense style of play has led him involved in several on-court controversies. He was, however, acknowledged as the SEC Freshman of the Year and was also inducted into the Second Team All-SEC.

Beverley continued with Arkansas for his sophomore year and led the team defensively. He averaged 12.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.3 steals on shooting 37.8% from the deep. His journey with Arkansas was over as he was unable to continue his junior year because of some academic issues. Thereafter, he moved to Europe and played basketball overseas for three seasons in Ukraine, Greece, and Russia before joining the Houston Rockets in 2013.
