Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley is a defensive minded guard who takes more pride in shutting the opposing players down than scoring the basketball. Throughout his NBA career, Beverley has remained as the irritant for all the superstars he has faced. He plays with so much energy that sometimes he gets into heated exchanges with superstars. We have seen time and time again, that if a player is not mentally tough, Beverley will gladly put him away.

All these years, we have seen Beverley get into it with players like Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and many more. Nobody in the NBA likes being guarded by a defensive pest like Beverley. His defensive presence is the reason why he has remained in the NBA for so long. He is the living example of how to have a long successful career in the NBA without being a scorer.

Beverley has battled his entire life and has fought all odds he faced. Despite not making it to the final roster, Beverley battled his way back to the NBA in 2013. He played his first NBA game for the Houston Rockets and quickly established himself as a tough, fiery defender who could also shoot the basketball from 3-point range and make hustle plays.

Currently with the Philadelphia 76ers, Beverley is in his 12th NBA season and is still going strong. His most dominating years were arguably with the Los Angeles Clippers and he helped them get to the playoffs multiple times. While he does not have a ring yet, Beverley gives it his all when he plays on the court.

Patrick Beverley Trade

Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball was out due to a knee injury and to fill the void in the guard spot, they signed Patrick Beverley in the middle of the 2022/23 NBA season.

Beverley was traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the Orlando Magic in a four-team trade. This was in the midst of the 2022/23 season. The Magic acquired guard Patrick Beverley, cash considerations from the Lakers, and a future second round draft pick in the process. However, Beverley never suited up for the Orlando Magic and was waived off immediately. Later, he signed with the Bulls and played the second half of the season for them.

After being waived off by the Bulls in the off-season, Beverley signed a one-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers worth $3.1 million. His value over the years has started to diminish as he is getting older and does not have a good shooting touch from the field. However, Beverley is still a great veteran to have. He can give that extra boost of energy to the young Sixers squad by holding them accountable on each side of the floor.
