#2 LA Lakers vs New Orleans Pelicans - 2020
Anthony Davis recorded 40-point games in both his first two matches against his former team, the New Orleans Pelicans. The second time he achieved the feat was a much better performance from him. It was during a regular-season game in March 2020.
Davis scored 46 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and a block in that contest. He shot a whopping 71% from the field on 21 attempts, 60% from the three-point range, and also converted all 13 of his free-throw attempts.
The LA Lakers won that game 123-113. Anthony Davis' stepping up was key, as LeBron James had an off night at the offensive end. The four-time MVP recorded just 17 points on 41.2% shooting from the floor that night.
#1 LA Lakers vs Minnesota Timberwolves - 2019
Anthony Davis' only 50-point game for the LA Lakers came against the Minnesota Timberwolves in December 2019. It is undisputedly his best match in a Lakers uniform thus far.
He tallied 50 points, seven rebounds, six assists, four steals and a block in that game. Davis shot a staggering 69% from the field on 29 attempts, and made all ten of his free-throw attempts as well.
