Another year, another MVP trophy for LeBron James

It would become a monumental accomplishment for LeBron James during the 2009-10 season, as he would go on to win back-to-back MVP awards. His Cavaliers team would go on to post an impressive 61-21 record before losing in the Eastern Conference semifinals. James was magnificent again throughout the year, finishing with an average of 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game while shooting 50.3% from the field. What was remarkable about this season was that there was a stretch during the year in which James was required to take over the team's starting point guard role. During that stretch, he went on to average 10.4 assists per game over 20-games. It would make the fact that he finished with over 2000 points even more impressive.

After an offseason that saw his Cleveland Cavaliers team suddenly stripped of talent, James was asked to carry the load throughout the year for the franchise. He didn't disappoint as LeBron went on to have one of his most impressive seasons. He would finish the regular season with an average of 27.5 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 9.1 assists per game while shooting 54.2% from the field. While his regular-season performances were sensational again, this year would always be remembered for the level of play LeBron had during the NBA Playoffs. He would carry the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals, while averaging 34.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.

There's a realistic argument to be had that this was the best year LeBron James ever had and it wasn't just because of scoring. James would go on to average 26.5 points per game for the Miami Heat, but it was his efficiency that made it one of the most special seasons. LeBron would go on to shoot a career best 56.5% from the field while also shooting 40.6% from three, which would be the only time during his career that he would shoot over 40% for a season. He would also go on to lead the league in PER at 30.26, and would eventually go on to win both the NBA Championship and Finals MVP.
