Rickea Jackson, a native of Royal Oak, Michigan, U.S., played basketball for Detroit Edison Public School in Detroit and led it to consecutive Class C Championships in 2018. She earned the prestigious Michigan Miss Basketball honor and was selected to the McDonald's All-American Game and Jordan Brand Classic.
Jackson went to Mississippi State for her studies in 2019 and earned second-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) and All-Freshman honors as a freshman. In the 2019-2020 season, Jackson won the Gillom Trophy representing Mississippi State. In 2022, Jackson entered the transfer portal and transferred to Tennessee University. In 2023, she played in the Southeastern Women’s Basketball Tournament and scored a senior season-high 34 points to win against Kentucky.
She was the fourth consecutive Tennessee Lady Vols. Her collegiate journey extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, allowing her to return for a fifth season journey with the Tennessee Lady Vols.
