Ricky Rubio is a professional basketball player from Spain, born on October 21, 1990. He is a point guard currently playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers. His career history consists of awards and accomplishments.

Ricky Rubio Vives started his basketball career in Spain. In 2005, he joined DKV Joventut in the ACB league. Rubio won many awards and accomplishments with the team in his 4 years of playing for them.

Rubio played for FC Barcelona in 2009 before joining the NBA. He won two championships with the team before getting drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Rubio started playing for the Timberwolves from 2011, he was Rookie of the Month and finished second in the Rookie of the Year run. Overall, Rubio’s first season in the NBA went by smoothly with minor injuries along the process.

Rubio played for the Timberwolves till 2017, he recorded many career highs and gained a ton of experience. In June 2017, Rubio was traded to the Utah Jazz, he was moving from one team to another after this trade. In 2019, Rubio signed with the Phoenix Suns and soon after a season got traded back to the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Two days later to his trade to the Thunder, Rubio was traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. In his second stint with the Wolves, he was no longer a rookie and a newcomer to the team. He took charge and fulfilled his role as a point guard before being sent to Cleveland after the season.

From 2021, Ricky Rubio has been a part of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Within this span he got traded to the Indiana Pacers in 2022 but never played a game due to injury. He returned to the Cavs after 5 months, Ricky Rubio currently is not playing basketball on a professional level. He has taken a much needed break for his own wellbeing.
