Riley Minix, who was born on September 22, 2000, in Vero Beach, Florida, is a young professional basketball player and is a forward. Minix played college basketball at Southeastern and Morehead State. He initially committed to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics Southeastern (NAIA). During his freshman year, he earned the first-team All-Sun Conference nomination and was also named the conference freshman of the year. He had to sit out the latter half of the season, as he was sidelined with an upper-body injury after just eight games in his sophomore year. He then transferred to Morehead State University in 2023. During his lone season at Morehead State, he averaged 22.4 points, 2.1 assists and 10.1 assists per game, as per his college profile. According to OVC Sports, he led the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) in double-doubles with 18 double-doubles throughout the season. For his performances, he was named to the First-Team All-OVC and OVC tournament MVP, OVC Player of the Year and OVC All-Newcomer team in 2024.

Riley Minix declared for the 2024 NBA draft but went undrafted. He was then signed by the San Antonio Spurs and joined them for the 2024 Summer League. On October 19, 2024, Minix signed a two-way contract with the Spurs. As per his two-way contract, Minix is obligated to split his time with the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA and the Austin Spurs in the G-League.
