After a decorated high school career and two college seasons at Texas A&M University, Robert Williams was drafted 27th overall by the Boston Celtics in 2018.
With the Celtics, Williams wasted no time in displaying his rim protection prowess and lob-catching ability. During the 2021/22 season, he averaged 10.0 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game, and helped the Celtics reach the NBA Finals.
After five seasons in Boston, Williams was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in October 2023. However, after just six games into the 2023/24 season, a knee injury that required surgery ended Williams’ season prematurely.
