The 6 ‘5’’ wing is acknowledged as one of the most decorated players in the Spanish national team. He also leads Real Madrid as a captain in the EuroLeague and the Spanish national league of Liga ACB.

The 2004 Athens Olympics was his foremost competition with the Senior National Team, and since then he has been a regular roster for the team and has appeared in each and every World Cup, Olympics, and EuroBasket tournament to date. The Center won two silver and one bronze with the team in the Olympic games of 2008 (Beijing), 2012 (London), and 2016 (Rio de Janeiro). Additionally, he has also assisted the team in winning two gold medals in the World Cup games of 2006 (Japan) and 2019 (China).

In the 2006 FIBA Championship, he posted the precious 9.1 ppg, 2.3 rpg, and led the team to win their first Gold Medal title in their franchise history. Moreover, he has also contributed to capturing four gold medals for team Spain in the EuroBasket Championships.
